American Culture not necessarily Black Culture

What constitutes a culture?

Merriam-Webster Dictionary, defines culture as:

1. The beliefs, customs, arts, etc. of a particular society, group, place, or time.

2. A particular society that has its own beliefs, ways of life, art, etc.

3. A way of thinking, behaving, or working that exists in a place or organization

In reflection on my first couple of weeks here at North Carolina Central University, I learned a lot about the melanin in me. I understood a little bit more of myself, because of an important lesson I quickly recognized. American culture is not necessarily Black culture.
